December 1

december

So, how many times today did you hear, “I can’t believe it’s December !”

If you’re like me, I’m sure you stopped counting. Or maybe you were even the one saying it.

It’s not uncommon to hear people make a big deal over the year “going fast,” but today seemed more shocking to people than most.

I think December 1st just brings more weight with it than say, April 1st or September 1st.

It’s a reality check for many that Christmas is truly around the corner, and that 2016 will soon come to close.

And I get it. There is anxiety with both those things.

For many, this month will bring a lot of joy and happiness- but also some stress, extra cash flowing out of the bank account, and high expectations that are sometimes hard to achieve.

So, what if instead of a worrying about a New Year’s resolution for 2017, today you make a resolution for the month of December?

That resolution could be that you’re going to soak up everything this last month of 2016 has to offer.

Instead of focusing on the gift you have to buy, or beating yourself up over the things you didn’t accomplish in 2016, what if you look at this month as your victory lap?

Focus on all the goodness this year brought.

And for those that had a really hard year, why not toast to the year you survived despite set back after set back? That is certainly worth of a month long celebration!

The way we approach this month and all that comes with it is completely up to us.

Why not start it out on the right foot by counting your blessings?

So, I say, “Cheers to this last month of 2016!”
