If you love food and your heading to New York City anytime soon, you have to add Eataly to your must-visit list.
During my recent trip to NYC my husband, sister, and I checked out their location in the Freedom Towers (they also have one in the Flatiron District).
Basically, it’s the Bergdorf’s of grocery stores.
When you walk into the location everything is clean and beautifully displayed. Fruits and veggie from all around the world line the produce section.
It has the feel of an open-air market in Italy, while located in the heart of New York City.
And if you love the produce section, wait until you see the cheese area! You will be in lactose heaven.
The store goes on and on from there. From fresh meats in the butcher area to baked good in the bakery, it was hard not to grab a cart and just start shopping.
My saving grace- it was our last stop of the trip. We were leaving the store to go right to the airport. Not really the best time to do my weekly shopping.
However, something I do want to take advantage of the next time I’m in town is one of their classes. Weekly offerings include numerous pasta-making classes and four-course cooking classes.
And while we didn’t have time to learn how to make amazing gnocchi, we did have time to eat it!
Eataly features five restaurants within their Freedom Tower location. Osteria Della Pace, La Pizza and La Pasta, La Piazza, Il Pesce, and Orto e Mare.
Each menu looks amazing and choosing was no easy task, but we all settled on the La Pizza and La Pasta.
It was absolutely perfect. My sister and I both had pasta dishes and my husband went with pizza. Everything was delicious and really fresh.
It was the perfect last meal to cap off a trip of amazing and inspired eating.
So say you aren’t going to be in New York anytime soon, well are you planning a trip to Chicago, Boston, or L.A.? If so, you’re in luck because Eataly has locations and all of these cities as well.
If none of those cities are on your upcoming travel itinerary, you can still experience some of the goodies Eataly has to offer.
They have an extensive online store with countless options.
Added bonus, all orders over $30 are delivered free of charge.
So if you love cooking, shopping, or eating, I truly believe you will enjoy Eataly. It’s a little food mecca that will make any foodie’s heart sing.
