Tone It Up Meal Plan | Week 4 Recap

Tone It Up Salad

I’m officially halfway through the Tone It Up Bikini Series Plan! I just wrapped up week four, so it’s all downhill from here!

The nutritionist who designed the Tone It Up meal plan is really smart (and a little sneaky!) because last week the food was cut down a good amount. It wasn’t horrible, but I definitely noticed.

And it makes sense. It’s about this time that most of us are plateauing and the scale isn’t moving as fast as it did in the beginning.

The upside- I’m creeping closer and closer to my goal. The downside- I’m creeping.

Scale happy dances aren’t happening with the same vigor or frequency as before, but at least the number is going down. Last week I lost 1.2 pounds.

So for the Numbers…

Since July 5th I’ve lost:

Pounds: 9.6

Arms: 1.25 inches

Chest: 1.25 inch

Abs: 3 inches

Waist: 0

Hips: 1.25 inches

Leg: 0.5 inch

Calf: 0.25 inch

This week my arms and calves went up 0.25 inches from the week before. Maybe I’m getting more toned??!! Or maybe, despite my best efforts, I’m not measuring the exact same spot every week. I prefer to go with the more toned idea…

A small upside to eating less food is the food prep is much faster!

Breakfast is generally a smoothie. My favorite is the Coconut Chica Smoothie, sans the coconut. I can make it and finish it off in under 5 minutes when I’m in a rush.

I prep meals 2 through 4 the night before because I take them to work and they don’t take long to make. Generally under 15 minutes for everything.

Lunch has been a bikini wrap most days, which is about 4 ounces of protein, ½ cup of fresh fruit, “wrapped” in romaine lettuce.

Snacks are typically cucumber rafts, which are cucumbers with a protein-oriented topping like Greek yogurt or hummus. All of this keeps me pretty full while I’m at work.

When I get home from work, I feel my hunger hit, but I think it’s more emotional than physical. After work was always my emotional eating time.

One way I’ve been able to avoid snacking is by grabbing a bottle of sparkling water from the fridge as soon as I get home. I love the Crystal Geyser flavored sparkling water. It’s refreshing, and maybe it’s in my head, but I feel like the bubbles fill me up.

I’m also still doing a Tone It Up strength training video every morning.

If you’re considering the plan, but aren’t sure about buying it, I recommend checking out the Tone It Up YouTube channel. They have a ton of free content, including eating tips and all kinds of workout routines.

This week’s biggest challenge was that I was lucky enough to be able to attend the International Food Blogger Conference. I talked about it in my post yesterday, but needless to say, it was an amazing time and A LOT of food.

I tried tons of yummy things and I did pretty well with sampling things, instead of finishing them off. I also switched out my normal spin class on Saturday and Sunday for cardio that would burn more calories.

I went on a distance run each morning for an hour and covered 7.5 miles each time, which helped with the extra calorie intake over the weekend.

For the next month, I’m switching up my workout regimen to see if it helps.

Today I signed up for a month of unlimited Class Pass. The program is in limited cities, so not everyone has access, but I live in Sacramento and I’m really excited to have it here.

For $79 for a month (if a friend refers you, you both save $20!) you get to go to as many classes as you’d like at various boutique studios. Options include everything from yoga to boxing.

I’m going to stick with my beloved spin classes in the mornings, but I’ll check out other classes after work a few days each week and see what I like.

Right now I’m signed up for boot camp at Fitness Rangers and a Barre class at U Barre. It’s totally outside of my comfort zone, but I know my body needs a fitness routine changeup.

So it’s all downhill from here! My goal hasn’t changed- I’d still like to be about 130 for my trip to Hawaii in five weeks. I certainly think it’s a possibility!!
