Recently I wrote a piece for Comstock’s Magazine titled “Sacramento Businesses Join Forces to Train New Triathletes“. While researching the piece, I had the opportunity to speak with many of the amazing people that make up the Triathlon Training Sacramento community.
For those that live in the region and are interested in getting into the sport, you will find many great companies that can help you learn the ins and outs of triathlon. Please head over to my piece in Comstock’s for all the details, but here is a quick overview of the businesses I highlight in more detail in the piece.
Fleet Feet Sacramento
So much more than a running store! Fleet Feet offers all the supplies you’ll need for the run portion of the race, but they also have a triathlon clinic every year that’s free to get you started. Another huge benefit for the triathlon newbie – you can rent wetsuits for a week for $40. So much better than shelling out $300 for a new one, especially if you are just starting out in the sport!
Kaia
Kaia Fit has a program called Kaia Tri. Over 10-weeks you can go from complete beginner to triathlon race finisher. You’ll also sure to make some great friends along the way.
Sacramento Triathlon Club
Feeling a little comfortable with the basics, but want to get to know others in the triathlon community and build on your skills? Join the Sacramento Triathlon Club. For only $40 you get an annual membership and can attend meet-ups with other members. From group swims at Lake Natoma, to group rides around Folsom Lake, you’ll improve your fitness and find some amazing training partners.
Total Body Fitness (TBF)
TBF has been around for more than 20 years. They have helped countless people go from not knowing anything about triathlons to becoming regular triathletes, even completing half and full Ironmans. Just want to focus on one aspect that you are struggling with (like swimming??). TBF offers separate clinics for swimming, biking, and running.
